Gathered Around
We were thrilled when Atlanta-based food and fashion blogger Peaches to Pearls asked The Southern Atelier to contribute to a feature in “Vegging Out,” the sixth annual Food & Wine issue for Points North Atlanta, on an article themed “Gathered Around the Table.”
We have always loved collaborating and working on projects with Luisa of Peaches to Pearls, (as seen here, here, and here just to list a few) and we were equally excited to be included in a project for Points North Atlanta.
Images of the featured editorial from Points North Atlanta are shown above
About Points North Atlanta:
Founded in May of 2000, the magazine serves Atlanta’s stylish northern communities and has become the most popular magazine for residents and business owners in the area. Points North Atlanta has a distribution footprint that spans from Buckhead to Dawsonville and is considered a ‘must-read’ for those who live in Northern Atlanta, so naturally we jumped at the opportunity to co-style this shoot with some of our creative friends.

The Atlanta-based magazine opted for a change of pace for their Gathered Around article when they “turned the tables” on local blogger Luisa of Peaches to Pearls “to learn how this stylish food fan would set her own this season.
With a masters degree in Clinical Nutrition from Georgia State University and a dietetic internship at Southern Regional Emory Medical Center, Luisa Hammett not only knows the science behind a well-shopped grocery cart – she also enjoys ‘eating pretty.’ Her blog is the perfect outlet, where her love of trying new foods and chatting with chefs overlaps with her covetable fashion sense.” For Luisa, the dinner table is of great importance as it symbolizes a sense of community:
“It is a place where we come together with friends and family to talk and enjoy each other’s company. From deep conversations to joke telling, gathering around the table creates memories that will last forever.

The article continues, “turns out, when she [Luisa of Peaches to Pearls] gathers around the table, she is often in the good company of fellow creatives.” And creative they are. From bloggers of Peaches to Pearls, Atlanta to Alys and The Southern Atelier to interior designer and tablescape stylist Sherry Finnell, artistic innovation was overflowing in this fabulous collaboration. The on-set presence of Piper Arielle Photography, Morgan King Makeup and Rachel Christine additionally enhanced the fabulousness of the Beachfront Supper portion of the magazine’s editorial.

Luisa hails from Florida’s Gulf Coast, and returns as often as possible to 30a’s “emerald green waters and easy living.” This juxtaposition to the hustle and bustle of her daily life in the city creates perfect symmetry and merging the two worlds provides a beautiful balance for the food-meets-fashion blogger. Luisa set out to connect her newly planted Georgia roots with the fond memories of growing up on the Gulf, so she planned this stylishly set photoshoot to take place in 30a at the Alys Beach home of fellow blogger Debbie House from Atlanta to Alys.
Described on the cover of the magazine as being in the category of Set to Impress: Tempting Tablescapes, the table “reflects the area’s signature minimalist architecture and was inspired by the community’s love of the ocean.”

Regarding the photos of the coastal tablescape, the Annual Food & Wine issue remarks, “Hint: you’ll want to Instagram these.” Our response? You can pin them, too…(said with a smile and a wink).
A quick aside regarding Peaches to Pearls…did we mention that Southern Living recently named this ‘fashionable foodie’ blog as one of the “Bloggers You Should Be Following in 2016?”

The beautiful florals were provided by one of our favorite florists on 30a – Flowers by Milk & Honey. Luisa’s wardrobe was from Alys Shoppe (30a) and her jewels were from HM Willow (ATL).
